Royal Victorian Yacht Club

Challenge

Royal Victorian Yacht Club in Victoria, BC had contacted us about the idea of using fiberglass grating for the dock walkways versus wood, which is the standards on most docks. They were replacing wood annually and it was also very slippery when wet. One of the challenges was the new decking needed to be close mesh for smaller gaps, and slip resistant.

Solution

P&R Metals worked with the Yacht Club to come up with a custom color and also the use of our molded mini-mesh product. This product produces a maximum 1/2" opening, which will allow it to pass ADA regulations with respect to grating and public walkways. As you can see, the finished product turned out beautifully and they are extremely happy with the end results. Please contact your P&R Metals sales representative for additional information.
